How to find your Guy Style

I was recently rushing out to work when I realized I have no idea what I wear every day.  I kind of just throw some clothes on close my eyes and hope no one stares.  One of my resolutions this year was to dress more professionally and make an effort.  So far I have pretty much just worn out my Sunday clothes.  I have not worn jeans to work, but I am already bored and don’t know what to do. What is the perfect button down shirt?  I don’t want something that makes me look like a box.  What about the best pants that I can throw off and they won’t wrinkle?

Women have a ton of makeover shows and guys are just let to figure it out I guess.  I have not been happy with Banana Republic’s clothes and most of the time Brooks Brothers is too much like my dad’s store.  I don’t know how to find the right combination.  Any suggestions?

An Education: Style Guide

An Education is a fantastic movie about growing up, but more importantly finding oneself.  Not only did the film make me fall in love with Cary Mulligan, but the style made me want to clean up my own act.  We have pulled together some of our favorite looks from the 1960’s English period.

Paul Smith Tie

J.Crew Vest

J.Crew Suit

Allen Edmonds Shoes

An Education is a film about style and choices.  These are not the cheapest pieces, but they are all pieces that will last a long time.  You can re sole Allen Edmonds, and switch out the tie on this classic suit.  This holiday season is a good time to try to scoop up some sales and get these classic pieces into your closet.

What is the Best Suit to wear on an Interview?

We recently received a question about what to wear for a first interview.  He has a black and grey suit, as well as khaki pants and a blue blazer.

It obviously matters what you are interviewing for.  If you are a graphic designer khakis and a crisp shirt will work.  If you are interviewing for a powerbroker a black suit will work.  Our example today is a applying for marketing positions. We recommend a grey suit with a patterned shirt and modern tie.  This will portray the business aspect of the job while still conveying creativity with a nice shirt and tie.
