An Afternoon with Mamet: Race

This afternoon I had my favorite date, my sister, and saw David Mamet’s Race.  I have been meaning to see the play for a long time and finally made it today.  So I got out of my post college drinking Friday night and made it into Manhattan.

Race is a fantastic play about the way we treat each other and our own agendas.  James Spader, Keri Washington, and David Alan-Grier star as attorneys.  James Spader was exciting and exact while Keri Washington looked beautiful, but like a high schooler trying to perform Hamlet.  It is not supposed to look like you are acting is what I hear.

The play is honest and direct and the lawyers all dress like I should be dressing on Monday morning.  James Spader and David Alan-Grier wore classic american suits – clean and simple.
