Business Man: Mint Founder

Mint, a personal finance website, founder Aaron Patzer gives a very candid presentation about how he took each step with Mint.  It is very informative for anyone interested in running or starting their own business.  I thought I would just watch a couple of minutes, but found myself watching the entire video.

Finance Advice: Mint

Mint is a new personal finance system that tracks how you spend money, and will provide updates.  It does not actually link into your accounts, but has the ability to “view” them.  I was reluctant to use it, and actually sat around not using it for three or four months.  I was starting to talk about it more and thought it would be better if I had some first hand experience.

I have been using it for three weeks now.  I cannot say that I am that impressed with it.  The best feature has been the weekly emails with my budget updates.  I find the site to be a little bit more chunky than I thought it would be.  The service is free so they utilize some unique marketing and advertising tools.  Some of which I think are invasive and not necessary.

Bottom Line: We will stick to reading blogs for personal finance advice and tracking our money with excel.
